His Holiness, Shri Gurubasava Mahaswamiji of Bilur, a visionary far ahead of his times, founded Basaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha, in the year 1906. At present, the sangha has a network of more than 104 educational institutions over the districts of Bagalkot and Belgaum in Karnataka state, encompassing a wide range of institutions over the disciplines of Engineering, Medical Sciences, Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Teacher Education Colleges besides Pre – Primary, Primary and High schools.
                      Our College of Education came into existence in the year 2004. The Institute has been recognized by the NCTE & Government of Karnataka, and affiliated to Karnataka University, Dharawad. Our Institute is situated in the beautifully locality of the B.V.V.Sangha's Old Campus. IGNOU Study centre is sanctioned to our college of education.
